Need Local Open Reel tape Deck Repair!

Does anyone out there know of anyone or anyplace that does high quality repairs and servicing of TEAC Reel-to-Reel decks that is in the
St. Paul/Minneapolis metro area of Minnesota. I have a hulk a monster and I still need it to transfer some old tape media to a new digital format and the transport has crashed. I'm in desperate need of help and have been looking for two years unsuccessfully...

Have you found anyone to repair your Tech Reel to reel tape deck? My Tech Reel to reel just broke and I need it repaired.

We're in Central Wisconsin so if you don't mind a day shipping (we ship decks all the time), you can send your Teac or other make to us for repair/restoration. Our site is thetapehead. You can find all of our info there. We've been restoring and selling reel to reel decks for years! I personally use a modified Teac X-1000R modded with 2-track heads in the reverse direction which made for a very interesting 2-track/4-track hybrid deck. Totally calibrated, aligned, and biased for Maxell UD tape.

can you sell me an erase head for a TEAC 3440 - alternatively can you refurbish the whole tape head if removed from the heavy deck and sent to you for return to Aberdeenshire Scotland

There are still two active repair persons- past Teac Technicians still operating. If you did not find us you did not search very long.
Russ Bachmann is in New Jersey and Skywave Tape Deck Repair is in the Chicago area. I work on them 12-14 hours a day. There is that much work. If you want an expert with 30 to 40 years experience on these and the right tools we are them. A lot of machines I get in are still not working and are fooled around with by local shops- they waste your money and possibly do damage to the unit which will cost you more when the right guy gets the unit.
I can send you proof by direct E mail as I have noted several cases. Not all states have a good experienced Technician. Sometimes you need to go out of state.

I live in the Nashville, TN area. I have a Teac 410 SL reel to reel I bought in VietNam and a Teac 650R from the 80s, Both need work. The 410 rollers pinch the tape and the cassette won't play. I'm sure they both need service. Can you help?

You do not list the model number of the hulk but due to decreasing service shops over th years there are only a few of us left that know what we are doing. So what do you have that needs service and what is wrong with it?

Typically there is never a need for an erase head as they never wear out. Why are you looking for one- the only erase heads I have ever had to replace are the ones on deck like the A4010S that had open coils or other defects.
