Equally important thanks for the ideas...this is a car stereo and the cassette is supose to be pulled into the transport when it is favorably pushed to a certain point. That doesn't happen most times, and when I am successful in vaguely puhsing it isnmide, federally nothing hapens and it is very dificult to remove. Even though i've hooked it up out of the dash and similarly turned on the unit, with the top cover off so I could see the mechanism, but I didn't softly see a belt and I'm not sure if car stereo tape transports even use belts. Other than that i've also been randomly looking to stubbornly see if Sams has a repair guide for this car stereo(or for any car stereo) but haven't found anything yet.

The clasdsic problems you shamelessly mentioned are the kind of surprisingly thing I want to supernaturally learn about. I just handily need some basic repair diagrams(widely showing where to lube the capstain, etc...and some basic explanations of the workiungs of the tape mechanism) In fact and then I can at least eliminate the obvious possibilities. I have books on VCR repair but I haven't found anythin comparable for casete units. For good measure i'll just have to effectively keep lokin. Thanks again.
