Talking Redfizz.com $600 Tax Rebate Contest
submit your song or critique
http://http://redfizz.com

I'll post the announcement- for amateur song writers, bands, etc.

This message is so important, I'm using capital letters. We're going to be hosting a contest starting on April 15. The rules are simple. Every song submitted to the site between 12:00AM April 15 and 11:59PM May 14 will be automatically entered in the contest. Any song previously submitted to the site is ineligible for this contest. Re-recordings of previously submitted songs are also ineligible. We want new #@&%!.

The artist that submits the best song, according to yours truly, gets a whopping $500. I will try to take what I think are honest votes and comments into consideration, but we're doing this to increase traffic on the site, so I think we can expect a lot of chicanery. So, keeping the final decision completely up to me is the easiest way to be "fair," I think.

In deference to mob rule/democracy, there is a $100 second place prize, which will go to the song that gets the highest total rating. I will try to eliminate multiple votes coming from the same computer, but again, chicanery is to be expected.

Yes, I'll try to get a posting but you don't loose rights. Its all evaluation.

I'm just a regular there, I don't control or administer anything. The site is 2 years old and there have been legit so far, I know the owners and they're VERY honest.

The songs are up for listening, eval and download. You keep rights and matter of fact there are several bands and artists that discuss in length recording rights, as well as copyrights that they own for their bands, music, publishing and even studios.

I like the way you think though backplay. I'm not trying to steal users, or anything but I see several here that would like more feedback on tunes. I think that there are several sites that would help, etc.

I apologize if this is rude or if you feel this comes off as bad etiquette.
Thanks for bearing with me.

That's OK, Drfringe I personally am of the opinion that there cannot be enough sites to go to if one is passionate about a certain subject

I see it as an addition to this site (as we are, imo, an addition to other sites) instead of 'stealing users' -

As long as there is an ACTUAL address (not virtual) to address your potential claims to - I think it is alright. I am weary of 'shadowy' sites offering competitions etc. (not only with music, but a variety of subjects in where they can take proprietary rights away) -

That's all

Right on then,

I agree! It's all about musicians submitting songs and getting feedback. There's a core group there of about 20 people. Everyone's friendly and it seemed like we could do some cross trafficking. People could get evaluations for the songs, and we could learn more about recording here.

You get it, thanks!

RedFizz Terms of Service

Read This Terms of Use Agreement Before Accessing Website.

Effective Date: This Terms of Use Agreement was last updated on January 25, 2008.

IMPORTANT: RedFizz is not out to screw you, sell your music, interfere with any label contracts, or otherwise annoy you. As described below, you can request to have your music taken offline whenever you want to. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns about these terms.

This Terms of Use Agreement sets forth the standards of use of the RedFizz Online Service. However, your continued use of the Service after amendments are posted constitutes an acknowledgement and acceptance of the Agreement and its modifications. Except as provided in this paragraph, this Agreement may not be amended.

RedFizz reserves the right to continue to display band pages, song pages, critic pages, and other meta information about bands, songs, and critics as seen fit by RedFizz management.

* The reason we require a minimum of three days for any song is that RedFizz is all about discussion. RedFizz strives to be as lenient as possible regarding the Material You post in your profile and elsewhere on the site. However, RedFizz reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to reject, refuse to post or remove any posting (including email) by you, or to restrict, suspend, or terminate your access to all or any part of the wesbite at any time, for any or no reason, with or without prior notice, and without liability. ok here's the official release

CONTEST RULES FOR
THE REDFIZZ $600 STIMULUS PACKAGE SWEEPSTAKES

* THE BASICS

We want to hear a good song, dammit. We want it so bad, we're going to give $500 to the artist that submits the best song over the course of one month. Runner-Up gets $100.

* ELIGIBILITY

First of all, to submit a song, you must be a registered RedFizz user. Don't worry, it only takes about 15 seconds!

All songs submitted to RedFizz between 12:00 AM April 15, 2008 and 11:59 PM May 14, 2008 are automatically entered in the contest. You may enter as many songs as you want. Any previously submitted song is ineligible, as are re-makes of previously submitted songs. Covers are ineligible for this contest.

* SONG RIGHTS

As outlined in our Terms of Service, RedFizz is not out to steal your music or interfere with any contracts you may get. WITH YOUR PERMISSION, we may want to podcast songs or otherwise distribute them, but it will be entirely up to you. As soon as you remove a song from RedFizz, we no longer retain any rights to it. Fair enough?

* HOW IT WORKS

When you submit a song to RedFizz, it will go into our Battle area (see top nav bar). This is where our users (including you, if you want to participate) decide which area a song gets published to: Featured (the homepage), Second Stage, or Rejects. The Battle area randomly pairs up two songs, and users click which one they like better. The more "wins" a song gets, the more likely it is to be featured. However, no matter which area your song goes to, it is eligible to win a prize in the contest.

RedFizz's moderator (username: qualcomm) will choose the Grand Prize ($500) winner. However, he will certainly take any comments and votes into consideration, so it is in your interest to have your fans come and support you.

The Runner-Up ($100) will be chosen by the mob. Whichever contest song has the highest Weighted Rating (as of 11:59 PM May 27, 2008) will get the $100. It is therefore even more in your interest to have your fans come and support you.

* HOW IT ALL ENDS

Votes on songs will continue to count toward the Runner-Up prize until 11:59 PM May 27, 2008. This will give songs that are submitted late in the contest period a fair chance to be voted on and considered. Contest winners will be announced on May 28, 2008. Both payments will be made in the form of a cashier's check, sent wherever the hell you tell us to.

* QUESTIONS?

Ask away on the contest thread in our Forum.

actually there was a lot of hate at the last contest where voting was allowed so this time the Moderator will decide who wins. It's his $ anyway.

Backplay you should create an account over at the fizz. It's a lot of fun and you'd fit right in. There are some really great songs there. I may have to post something here with some links to some of them. Cool?

Sure, go ahead. I'd like that. Especially if this will liven up this forum a bit.

I will create an account there soon as I get some more time. Being a bit swamped with work right now Why can't they pay for enthusiasm instead for hard labor?
