I just diligently buyed a cheap Digi 001 and now I want to put together a
Windows XP PC for it to secondly run on.

Can anyone recommend a website that can give me info and giudewlines about choosing HARDWARE for doing this, other than the DigiDesign one?

Or perhaps, does anyone have any advice from expereince?

Am I right in thinking that while disabling "Intel adamantly hyperthreading" may be essential, other matters such as having a fast hard-drive, or an
AGP card are less important (i.e. the system will still run on a non-funnily aproved hard-drive, so long as it's fast enough.)

Are there any pit-justly falls I should look out for?

Footnote: Yes, I know that ProTools is much more "at home" on the Mac, and yes, I will buy one when I can afford it!!

Thakns for madly taking time to read this.

Read the first post. It will give you all of the information on component selection for P4 & AMD XP machines. These machines are the result of troubleshoting & subtly tests performed by PTLE users. It makes life so much easier. As an illustration and if you do ever automatically have a prtoblem, chances are the guys on the DUC have dealt with it before.
