Hi all ,

I own a Behringer Europower PMP 1000 mixer and recently the left channel of the mixer is not producing sound and even the left led lights are not working . Only the right channel of the mixer is working now . I've tested it with all my different wires and different inputs (mic, rca, 1/4inch jets) but its still to no avail. Does anyone know how to solve this problem ?

Thanks for ya help!

In this modern age of disposable lighters...

It may just be cheaper to replace the mixer, sad but true.

It could be any number of small parts that broke, and you'll have to weigh the cost of repair for someone to go investigate which could be 70 dollar an hour.

If you're a gigging musician, it would be better to replace it, then perhaps toss the Behringer in the shop and once it's fixed or diagnosed sell it on FleaBay. They're only 350 bucks new.

However usually what would be the cause of this problem ? running a super tight budget so was wondering if I could rectify this myself.

well, if you're getting all the lights working but nothing out the channel, the built in amp is where to look.

The main power transister is where I would start, they're mounted to the huge heat sink on the back of the unit.

The thing is, electronics are so cheap now-a-days that the real repair shops would just order the sub-assembly from Behringer. The trick is finding a parts number and ordering the right model. Depending upon how old the unit is, there may not be parts available.

But all that said, dig in and see what you find! heck, you may find a loose wire or a popped fuse and have saved yourself all kinds of cash.

I'm having the same problem with my Behringer Xenyx mixer... I think it has something to do with the mixer not being earthed. When I would switch the mixer on the left channel LED's would light up all the way and the level would slowly decrease to nothing, from where there would be no signal. This was always right after some massive humming noise coming through which made using the mixer very impractical, and after I switch it off and on again the left channel is gone.

This happened first with the Main channel, then the subgroups...

I'm taking it in soon, I'm no electronics expert, but maybe my info may help someone else see what's wrong with said mixer... Strange that even though it's entirely different product range, it's still Behringer... Hmm...
