I  am having technical difficulties with my fingers, which are pressing all sorts of things they shouldn’t like closing the tab of this post before I have and time to save. zombi

I have written this post, without stretching the truth 5 times and I keep on deleting it.

What does that tell you?

I am going to ignore any and all sublime messages right now, and press on with my usual stubbornness with this post.

Here we go.

As apposed to my fingers, I do like to go out of my comfort zone to find new music to listen to, since often that is were the most exciting discoveries lie. After reading Dave Great review on Lexicon Devil of Zombies Spirit Animal CD I decided that I have to exit my comfort zone once again to see for myself what these guys would do to my ears. I checked out their MySpace page and to my joy found that they have a stream of  Spirit Animal here.

Although its not my usual fair and is far from my usual palette, in no way did I run away screaming in dire need of getting away from the music. I must say though that I liked all of the beginnings of the tracks but they seemed to lose me shortly there after. A little disappointing. The only parallel that I can think of is a visual pattern that doesn’t develop or change.

But why don’t you go and decide for yourselves.

Sonic Youths new album The Eternal is out and about since a couple of days ago, in Vinyl, CD and digital album and will be streaming on SY site through June 15th (hurry up rush over today, other wise you will miss it. I am listening to is fast and furious as I write this, and am  mainly happy that in the world of Soft Rock and boring main stream we do have musicians like Sonic Youth, that are totaly doing their thing regardless of the mainstream takeover.

I don’t want to link to their music, I want you to go either listen to the stream if you manage to get to it before they take it of line, and, if you like it, put your hands in your pockets and by it.

Instead, Here is a video of them at the David Letterman show, that I found on Matador Records  Blog

I love Tom Waits, but some times he is just a tad to heavy for the mood, and can inspire a deep depression and despair within seconds.

Electric Black have managed to create some really beautiful music, maybe Tom Waits inspired, that doesn’t feel has heavy as what Mr Waits does, or in other words, even if you are more than a bit down, you can listen to these guys without going suicidal… you can stay nicely down for as long as you feel the need, without getting the feeling that you feelings of despair and depression and despair are totally justified…

Siblingshot on the Bleachers says it better than I ever could, so pop over and read.

This from the official sit of Cherbourg this track is called man, and is from their new EP to be released today. I am quite infatuated with them, not wishy washing nowadays indie music that I have little patients for, and not do-over-Yes-Genisis ganre either.

Lizzy from come pick me up thinks they are fantastic as well.

Why do I always get the feeling that music used to be better?

Maybe because it it really was better?

Who are todays Queen, Bowie and Sting?
