Lately I have been having issues with female singers, who, for the most part have a tendency to sound like Alanis Morissette. Which is ok,if You are Alanis Morissette, but a bit boring if you are not.
I have, surprisingly enough run into several great female vocalists lately, that do not sound like Morrissette, but rather have developed their very own sound and vocal qualities. I am happy to say that Laura Gibson is one of these, and although she does not have a rock tendency (which is a great Morrissette breakaway) her voice and use of is so unique and interesting, it is a pleasure to listen to her.

According to Cable and Tweed, her second full length album, Beasts of Seasons is due to hit the stores on February 24th.
She has several tracks on her MySpace page, and is worth listening to.
