DIY Music

There is, obviously, a lot of fun in getting offered a multi million dollar recording contract, but for most musicians, that isn’t in the cards.
It doesn’t mean that music is not going to happen for you - there are a bunch of ways you can still do your music - and one of them, I have just found out, much to my glee is DIY. You can start by reading the Mechanics Guide, that Simple Machine released in the early nineties (Wow - almost 20 years ago) and then you can hook up with the new underground pseudo garage band scene that seems to be happening - and see what happens. I just read a great post on The Finest Kiss, all about this scene, and the small independent labels releasing limited edition lo - fi music, and as I write this post, I am listening to some MP3s posted with the fruits of this labor - and I have got to say, that as an 80’s chick (not because that is what I like but those were my teen years) I am in music heaven.
Do yourself a favor, pop over, read this post, and listen to this music.
